Greg Chavarria: -
Greg Chavarria currently serves as Chief Information Officer and Assistant City Manager for the City of Hallandale Beach. He has over 22 years’ experience in security technology, application systems and public safety technologies. Prior technology leadership roles include serving as IT Director for City of Doral, CIO for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, Technology Commander for the Miami Police Department and Senior Project Manager for the physical security systems in the private sector. One of the most notable projects that Greg has led include the Miami International Airport Security Systems Project in 2012. This $16M+ project was achieved by integrating smart IP surveillance technologies coupled with advanced video analytics and secure wireless iOT sensors. Greg holds professional certifications such as the Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and ITIL v3. Currently, he is enrolled as a PhD student at Grand Canyon University and has earned a Master of Science Degree in MIS from Florida International University and a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Miami.
