Silvia Beltre

Silvia Beltre: -
Silvia Beltre was born in Matanzas, Cuba and immigrated to the United States at the age of 4 with her family. She was raised in Miami, attended Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (BSAE). For over 20 years, Silvia has been advising governmental and private entities on transportation projects, using her skills in public engagement to build relationships with those impacted by proposed projects. As Sector Lead for Transportation Planning and Project Development in the state of Florida, her experience has included projects ranging in complexity from new expressway and interchange improvement type projects to express lane and local road widening projects. Silvia believes that communities should have a voice in projects that affect them, and she promotes outreach during the early planning stages, so stakeholders become part of the developed solutions. Her experience includes planning, project development, design, compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and public outreach. She is particularly interested in promoting the field of engineering to students and currently serve as the Marketing Co-Chair for the Miami-Dade County STEM Advisory Board in the public-school system.
